Initially functioning at a modest production capacity of only 2400 MT, today the Company has become India's largest manufacturer and exporter of reclaimed rubber; producing reclaimed rubber from the scrap of whole tyres, tread peelings, natural rubber tubes, butyl tubes, and moulded rubber products for different applications in both tyre and non-tyre rubber products. GRP is the first company in India to design, fabricate and install an entire plant and machinery for manufacture of reclaim rubber with complete indigenous components. From being the first to introduce a surface treated crumb rubber manufacturing facility in India (capable of manufacturing crumbs from various types of natural rubber based and synthetic rubber based products) to being the first in India to manufacture Custom Die Form products from used tyres, GRP has pro-actively integrated what modern technology has to offer into the very core of its philosophy; keeping innovation at the forefront every step of the way. Today, the Company has to its credit a multitude of awards and laurels. And, has received worldwide recognition for being a responsible market leader in its field.

In 2009, with an aim to provide its customers with value added solutions, GRP made an entrance into the thermoplastic compounding space with the establishment of its sister concern – GRIP Polymers. This is the first Indian company to offer a family of cost-effective and sustainable Polyamide and TPE solutions through self-developed technology for a wide variety of applications in the several sectors, namely Automotive, Industrial, Footwear, Supportive Packaging, Road Construction, and Soft Touch Grips etc. GRIP Polymers has developed state-of-the-art technology for Nylon 6, which is recovered from discarded or waste rubber tyres, and has upgraded this material for use in the Thermoplastics industry. It also blends discarded rubbers and thermoplastics to create TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomers) - a valuable recyclable raw material used in the Plastics industry. Today, GRIP Polymers operates as a SBU of its parent company GRP.
